alscott1984 Posted July 7, 2015 Report Share Posted July 7, 2015 Hi, i'm trying to replace the front wheel bearing on my first bike, a 2000 txt 250. The problem is there is a spacer running through the hub between the bearings.it is also a smaller inside diameter than the bearing so you can't even tap a lip. This prevents you from tapping the inside/backside of the bearing with a punch. Is there a way of getting the out. I'm stuck! Cheers Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
cbutler Posted July 7, 2015 Report Share Posted July 7, 2015 I had the same problem with my rear I found a socket that fit perfect inside the bearing race(and contracted the spacer). Heat the hub on the opposite side put the socket in and give it a wack with a hammer and it will come right out. Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Was unsure if you could tap through and didnt want to damage anything but I gave it a try like you said and hey presto, came straight out! Happy days, cheers...
