carman
I've seen one advertised by a dealer at what seems a reasonable price but before I travel a long way to view would appreciate any advice. Is it a reasonable first bike, what faults should I look for, value? Etc. Thanks - hopefully!
perce
If you are paying any more than 1000 - 1200 it's too expensive. It's very much a buyers market at the moment if you've got 1500 to spend you should be able to pick up an 03 bike for that money.
charliechitlins
Good bike, though. Fine for a novice. There used to be ideas that some bikes were "experts' bikes", etc. If it was ever true...it no longer is.
carman
Comments much appreciated - thanks guys. Think I'll go and have a look in the morning. Will take a few hours and some diesel but it will ad to the knowledge. Steep learning curve this!
fanticisti
Why not start with a local dealer who you will likely need for advice and parts anyway. BVM in Stroud always have a selection of used triallers listed and their employees ride tham as well as sell them. http://www.bvm-moto.co.uk/allusedtrials.htm Good luck

alan bechard
I know nothing of the value of bikes over there, But I do know, that it is very important to your satisfaction in riding (especially just starting out) to have a dependable, trustworthy and caring dealer near by to support you. And a lot of that rapport, starts with buying a bike from them. Hope you find something that suits your fancy.
scorpa3
For what it's worth, I had a new 2000 Sherco and the bulid quality was awful. The frame went rusty the first time I washed it. The later ones do have far better build quality though. For

perce
I do know that Gas Gas UK have some new 05 bikes left which I've been told will be a good price. You can contact them from their ad on the front page. For
