okjc250
My mate took his bike for its first ride since he bought it. It's a 2001 txt 250. It runs perfect until you go down a steep hill under engine braking. It then bogs down or stalls. Drain carb re start and it's fine. Any ideas? cbutler
Sounds like the float is ether not adjusted to the proper height or is sticking.

okjc250
Stripped it all today, drained the carb and a mixture of water and fuel came out and the airbox was also half full of water, the little drain reed at the bottom was full of mud trapping the water in. Im hoping this was the problem rather than the float, i had the carb out and it seems to be sealed. how do you get to or adjust the float? james
crazybond700
There is a big gold collored bold on the bottom of the bowl. If you take it out you can acces the jets and floats etc.
