steve fracy
As are the Evo;s......so what magic can occur with a GG type motor in a lighter aluminum frame?? cant wait
atomant
Except Beta and Montesa both use alloy frames, Yes of course, and those bikes are well respected in the community as well. It might just be that whilst we talk a lot about other 'performance' parts of the bike, one of the main performance parts could be the frame and it is something we do not focus on that much. Maybe we should?
trialsrfun
I have owned or ridden Beta Rev 3, Beta Evo also Montesa, all have similar frames which were made by Verlicchi in Italy (do not know if this is still the case) both companies retained this frame type in various guises while GG and Sherco had several very different designs of their steel version. Jordi Tarres had great success on Beta with the alloy frame so he obviously thought this the way forward.
collyolly
I seem to recall Jordi having a great deal of success on the steel framed Gasgas !

crazybond700
Post by Schnell: UPDATE on my recent trip to the TRS factory in Catalonia, and the arrival of the first TRS units to the USA. The facts - As we base our USA business completely upon honest factual information, we feel confident to now release some details about the future of the TRS brand here in the USA. Now in our 25th year of the Trial business in the USA, and two years with the TRS brand during the period of development, this move into the actual Import and distribution of the TRS brand motorcycles is something that we are very proud of. The actual details of this status are as follows: 1) We have all of the USA government approval from all agencies as required by Federal law. (This is complicated, was started many months ago, but could not be done until actual photo images of the final product were available as required by our government. This was very time consuming and detailed work, and it has been done.)2) The TRS factory in Sant Fruitos de Bages (Manresa) Catalonia (Spain) has only just begun actual production ten days ago. The first 25 units were built and immediately distributed to importers that were close to the factory so as to get rapid feedback from this first batch of production machines.3) The facts are that every TRS machine built has been incredibility reliable and even the very first pre-production prototypes are still going great with no problems of any kind. This process has been taken step-by-step to ensure a final production model that is trouble-free and performs as expected when delivered to our final customers all over the World. We know that this has been a long wait but this process was necessary to develop the machines and verify that every detail is within our goals of quality and performance.4) The next step is another production run of machines that begins next week, but we still have some time to go before these bikes are available 'on-demand' to clients all over the World. The absolute truth is that there are many machines that are already sold in many countries, and these first machines will go first to the importers to evenly distribute the production machines for testing and press purposes, followed by in some countries, bikes for sponsored riders. Finally, to deliver machines to those final customers who have already made a serious commitment for purchase, and this makes perfect sense. To be clear, we have not yet formed any kind of "USA TEAM" and have chosen to put our dealers and customers in front of any possible sponsored riders.- If you are waiting on a TRS One for your personal use, and you have ordered one from one of our dealers, rest assured that you are in line in the exact order (by date of order) -The great news is that thankfully, our esteemed USA dealer network have all stepped-up and months ago they pre-ordered machines for demonstration purposes! The very first machines to arrive to the USA will be sent here to our facility, directly from the factory via air freight. This will reduce the shipping time by about three weeks. The truth is that at this time, we have been allocated only a few from this next production run. We have arranged for Shan Moore of "On the Pegs" magazine to travel to our facility for a visit and a test with our USA representative and test rider Jesse Wellenstein. Depending upon how many machines actually arrive, we will be distributing these to our USA dealers so they can have at least one unit for demonstration purposes as soon as is humanly possible, as well as filling the orders for the "pre-sold" units.5) We know that many people are expecting these machines to have already arrived, but the facts are that we have never made any promises about delivery dates. The facts are that there is a process to developing a new brand and completely new motorcycle. To do it correctly, it takes time, and Mr. Jordi Tarrés is a perfectionist, and we are very proud to say that he has been 100% hands-on from day one, and his dedication to detail and precision has no equal in this business. The facts are that we are actually a little ahead of schedule at this time and are very pleased with the work the factory has done. I have just returned from 15 days in Catalonia and witnessed first-hand the efforts and dedication that the personnel at TRS have for this brand. I am very pleased and 100% satisfied with what I have seen. It was a pleasure to spend some days with Jordi Tarrés, Adam Raga, Pol Tarrés, Marc, Paco, Alicia, Bernat and many others.6) I have spoken to some of the other importers who have just received bikes from the first production run and they are ecstatic with the results of the first rides on the new TRS One. Now we wait, but not much longer. I will keep everyone informed as things develop. It is happening, we are very pleased, now we begin to move forward! Best regards in sport, Jim Snell - TRS-USA

nigel dabster
Whatever its virtues or otherwise, we need an independent view soon.....
ftp
Yes I look forward to an independant review - before I spend money trying to soften my 300 scorpa I might just chop it in for a new 250 or 280 TRS if they get good reviews from mere mortals.
