thesaint
I have heard that ATF and ATF type F oil is the best oils to use on the gearbox for Gas Gas bikes. I also heard that on older bikes 5W-30 engine oil is used What kind of oil is best to use on my 1998 Gas Gas TX 320 both for the gear box and also for the fuel mix? steve_earle
5/30, as your's has the older box, 80:1 fuel mix is what the majority use including myself.
peterb
I've always used an ATF rated to Dexron III, since at least 1992 in all my GG bikes, nothing flash, but changed often say 20 - 30 hours use, earlier with new bikes. A synthetic is not necessary. 600ml is fine with the older motors. I found that using a multigrade oil creates extra clutch drag, stay with the ATF. I tend to be a bit old fashioned and like to know I have oil in the fuel, so I ran with 50:1 fuel/oil ratio on the GG's. Always used a mineral oil. Never had any oiling problems. guys
GRO Gear Extreme 75W is recommended by GasGas, does not create drag and makes for a softer clutch action compared to ATF. Any, well known brand of two stroke oil should do.
