I don't think the dealers know much about any of the 2016 bikes of any make this year. The gas gas issue has upset all the manufacturers plans. The factories in Spain will be back at work soon so perhaps news will start coming through.

If you go by Honda Uk's website, there aren't any 2016 bikes !!! (There are 3, 260, Race Rep and Race Ready) they all get the new fuel pump and mapping which gives more power at the bottom and mid range and less engine braking.

Just about every other country had the price announced yonks ago, but here in Blighty, they're trying to work out how they can charge more than anywhere else, so it hasn't been announced yet.

RR has new fuel pump (higher flow rate), new mapping (with dual map tb), even less engine braking (than the 2014/15 260's, new rear Showa shock, alloy tech forks, new billet alloy hubs, new style braking master cylinders (clutch and front bake), new footrest mounts that are lower and further back, new carbon header pipe shield and weighs 2kg less than a standard bike (the repsol's weigh more).

Will be a great bike, I would really like one.

Saw the RR in TMX a couple of momths ago, Looks smart, If I remember right its actually a 280cc, They just call it a 300.

289cc, not just bored out either:

"The increase in displacement to 289cc has been achieved by increasing the diameter of the piston (from 78mm to 80mm) and of the stroke (increased by 3 mm). To make this change Montesa had to redesign the engine completely by using a new crankshaft-rod, cylinder and piston assembly. The use of these components made it necessary to modify the two semi-crankcases, mechanizing their surface to allow the mount of new components."

  • 4 weeks later...

The new vid on YouTube of Bou-San riding the new 300rr show a new cylinder/cam chain adjuster design. The bike he's riding in the video has the old head design on the 250/260 bikes. Wonder what else may have changed since the first showing?
