sammyd173 Posted September 4, 2015 Author Report Share Posted September 4, 2015 So there are telltale signs of coolant dried on the back of the cylinder. Pulled head and it was caked with white crud. The rubber gaskets look fine. But the fan is turning slow enough where I can see the insides of the blades turning. It is pulling hot air out but it's more of a waft. faussy Posted September 5, 2015 Report Share Posted September 5, 2015 I think you are describing something slightly different, but when the thermostats are on the way out they cause the fan to stutter and come on for brief periods at a time. nigel dabster Posted September 5, 2015 Report Share Posted September 5, 2015 omit thermostat, ie leave fan on all time if symptoms are the sme coolant is too low or not circulating. It was frustrating because I couldn't see that the fan was turning slowly, everything seemed to be working normally until it overheated.
