mickwren
Lakes 2 Day entry is now oversubscribed, Many thanks to the over 200 who have sent entries. Unfortunately we are unable to accept so many but we are doing what we can to ensure as many as possible get a ride. For this reason if anyone finds they are unable to ride would you please let either Jake Gowan or me know as soon as possible so that we can fill the vacancy. Numbers and start times will be announced soon Ta
scottwitting
Hope I got in then!? Sent entry quite early so if it's first come, first served I might be ok! Will the route or section group locations be available anywhere in advance? My wife and boys (2 and 4) will be hoping to watch if there are some easily accessible groups. She likes to know where she's heading before hand.
thesilecroftlad
Hi Scott Witting, the easy sections to get to for your wife on the Saturday, are up on the Corney Road that crosses Corney Fell from Duddon Bridge to Broad Oak on the Local OS map. There will be a few sections near to Thwaite Yeat on the climb up that are visible from the road at the second Y junction, go left at the first Y junction, and then right after the second after watching the sections, and the next group of sections to watch at are after the top of the fell road when descending to Buckbarrow Bridge(metal railed bridge) on the road, sections just downstream from here within easy walking distance. After those, she could go round to Bootle village and watch approx 4 or 5 sections within 75 Metres of the parking space. Good Luck
scottwitting
Great! Thanks for that, found those on a map so should give her a few to go at. How about the Sunday? Any idea where we'll be heading?
thesilecroftlad
The trial on Sunday is based on the fells and woodland either side of the B593 road that runs between Broughton and Torver, I think it actually starts in the Duddon Valley but I'm not 100% sure of that, the sections along the B593 are generally only a walk from the roadside. jg26
The sunday route does go towards Torver and is probably easier to get access to the sections than the saturday. Most sections will be near a back road and will be a maximum of a 5 minute walk. I will have a map set up at signing on in the morning for both days.
