samwisemcg
Hi,I got myself a cheap TY 250 s 1988 recently and I am considering a full restoration. The frame has a number of lugs and mounting points that aren't being used and I need a bit of help idetifying what is missing. To make it easier, I've marked the points on these photos. I've had a look at some images and I think #1 and #10 are for a removable rear loop. I think #11 is a mounting point for the original exhaust. The rest I have no idea, any help would be great.Thankssam
canada280i
10 and11are exhaust mounting points I believe, 12 is a chain roller off the top if gage chain. 6and 7 are mounting points for the rear shock reservoir on my 1998. 9 is for the rear brake light from the light kit
andywalker
Did the the S model not come with a battery fitted when new? i am sure the housing to carry it was located around the 2, 3, 4,and 5 points, a tool box was also fitted but this was mounted on the removable rear frame loop. dave_t
I had a 1988 TY250S new and agree with the previous posts, battery box was at points 2,3,4,5, but may not have used all of them, I am pretty sure all the parts removed at new, except horn, brake light switch and handlebar switch (used on a trail bike) are still in a box in the store shed, hope you do restore it, mine was probably the bike I most enjoyed riding and gave me some good results. samwisemcg
Thanks everyone you've been a massive help, the only photos I could find of the model from new were so small it was impossible to tell what anything was. dave_t I don't supposed you'd want to sell any parts you may have?
