twinkletoes
Anyone else experienced an occasional clunk of the headset and sorted it.. bearings smooth, top nut tight, clamp tight..? clunk occurs when putting front end down to earth, not every time, certain its from the headset not the forks. few clues before I strip it out may help Cheers

dan williams
Hmmm I just bought sheets of PTFE to use as optical diffusers for work. Maybe I should try to see if I can make a shim out of the .005 sheet.
dadof2
Check the outer races of the bearings are not loose in the frame. If they are stick them in with the right grade of Loctite. If this does not work a run of weld around the outside of the frame where the races fit will shrink the tube and tighten them up. Remove the races before welding. A decent thickness of TIG weld deposit is needed.
