Alright guys been out on my bike today after fitting a new radiator

Firstly a noticed the fan seemed to be coming on a lot

Then after about 10mins riding a went up a hill and it cut out

A kicked it and a had a little back fire

Then after about 2 mins it started and a cut it out to see if it fired back up with no joy

2mins later it started and I tried the same it wouldn't fire up

A got it home and have no spark I changed the plug and the same no spark

Me mate put a screw driver in the cap and he got no belt

I've checked all the wiring is connected properly etc

And have also disconnected the kill switch to rule this out

Can some one help me with my next move before I either scrap this bike or set it on fire thanks

try checking the woodruff key first - remove the flywheel cover ( plastic cover just infront of your left foot when your on the bike) and i think you have to remove the flywheel and you will see where the 'key' should sit and if its sheared or not. i have had this a few times causing same symptons as you where it cut out and then wouldnt go and can only get a backfire.  im pretty sure its a fairly simple job - just when it happened to me someone else has done the work on the bike for me as i didnt have a fly wheel puller.

I would check woodruff key first.

If resistance check not conclusive try setting your meter to ac volts and kicking the engine over - plug out so it spins well.

Look for a peak of  maybe up to 4 V from the trigger and 20 to 30 from the source coil. The trigger is the one with the higher ohms values on splatshop guide.
