biffco
What number of teeth is the best combination when trialling the mar?
fourex
11/42 was standard. Switching to a 10T front with all the s--t involved still didn't work for me, stuff still rubbed where it shouldn't. Stick with a 11T front and try a 44T rear if your trying to slow things down. nickyburnell
I have 11/42 and it goes so slow in 1st as to be nearly stopped. 44 would be interesting
woody
46 rear was standard on the MK1 MAR with, I think, 12 front, They went to 11 / 42 with the MK2. I've run 10 / 42 a few times over the years mainly for a low 1st for real nadgery stuff. To fit a 10 tooth you need to space the nut away from the sprocket as the chain can catch. There used to be a nut with a shoulder on one side to space it away from the sprocket but not sure if you can get them now.
goudrons
I dropped to a 10T, again for all the twists and turns. It does make 2nd a bit more usable too, but it all depends on what and how you ride really. Slowing it all down has helped with all the clutch fiddling as I can ride it on just the throttle and brakes most of the time. The collared nut is showing on InMotions site at the moment should you need one.
