okjc250
Seems to be a pattern occurring with my mates txt..... problematic Firstly will only start on the choke....... any ideas? secondly any wet action and it gets in the airbox and doesn't drain out of the little reed valve.... some tape over airbox cover should sort this Lastly and most worrying engine is starting to sound a bit rattly... top end .... bottom end have no idea to be honest
suzuki250
From you title it sounds like you are breeding them All TXT's rattle, its normally the clutch Watch you don’t block the air from entering the airbox, you will have even more problems. Better to fix the valve at the bottom? If it’s hot and you need the choke, have a look on youtube for videos setting the carb Edited January 2, 2016 by suzuki250
crazybond700
You should clean the airfilter box and make sure the little flap underneath functions, this should make it able for water to drain.
okjc250
I cleaned the valve out last time. But this time when it started bogging down a little I pulled the whole valve out and loads of water came out. As if the weight of the water isn't enough to open it. I left it out for the rest if the day
crazybond700
Maybe the plastic became to hard, you can try a new one? http://www.2bbikes.com/Webwinkel-Product-134033183/ontwatering-filterbox-flap.html
okjc250
Could be worth a try thanks
okjc250
The photos I have seen from that part number doesn't look like what I am talking about. It's like a little rubber grommet in the bottom of the airbox
crazybond700
Could be that the 2003 model (or 2002?) has a different design. 2004+ has this design (probably with a reason) Edited January 3, 2016 by crazybond700
okjc250
Pretty sure it's 2003 could be a year earlier though. Can't find a part number for this little grommet anywhere
huski
My 04 Gasgas had a rubber sheet splash guard cable tied to the frame ,visible when the airbox was removed.A mate had an 03 which didn't have it and a different airbox which would have been a good aquarium, the dirty water ruined the motor.Id recommend getting the later airbox and splash guard.Richard Allens Trialspares would be a good place to start
crazybond700
But the airfilter is really different aswel. So if it has the ''bowl'' airfilter its a pro, if it has a side flat airfilter its an edition. (among other differences)
okjc250
It is a 2003 pro. Going to make up a little splash guard and take airbox out see what else I can seal to help
crazybond700
I know the 2002 pro airbox was really bad, and they changed it. I think also electronics ran trough it? The 2003 I have not had problems with on numerous bikes, but we might have weather differences, we do not ride creeks or something overhere. crazybond700
A new underside of the filter isnt that expensive http://www.2bbikes.com/Files/2/70000/70237/ProductPhotos/Large/243451143.jpg http://www.2bbikes.com/Webwinkel-Product-134036555/filterbox-onderste-gedeelte-pro.html Although not completely sure if its fits your ''painted'' parts.
