crazybond700
I wont do any spoilers offcoarse. Who are you guys following? Offcoarse I follow the Dutch riders (there is this nice page http://www.trackingdakar.nl/live.php ) In all classes, and offcoarse the top 20 riders. Furtheremore, naturally,Laia Sanz (ok is also top 20 rider). One memorable rider is number 111 sylvain espinasse riding a 125cc 2 stroke bike, still in the race! Too bad a couple of the Dutch top riders in car and truck fell out because of fire /and manuel luchesse, I follow him for some years now. Great story about him (couple years old) http://www.brake-magazine.com/feature-manuel-lucchese-a-true-dakar-story/ Edited January 11, 2016 by crazybond700
s.e.lucas
Been watching the 3-4 minute videos Honda Pro Racing put up on youtube when they come up in my subscription feed. Used to watch religiously until it moved from Africa.
crazybond700
I must say, imo, this is on off the races I have followed least. Too many speedzones, not a lot of navigation tracks, just fast WRC-like speed race. The wheater does not help this year. Hope this week there are some real dessert style days.
tlrmark
The 125 two stroke Husquvarna is still going strong. Unbelievable, wonder if it gets a new piston every night.
feetupfun
The 125 two stroke Husquvarna is still going strong. Unbelievable, wonder if it gets a new piston every night. Yes it seems that they can do some fairly serious servicing on most of the overnights. I would like to know what is being done to keep that little 2 stroke Husqvarna going for so long. I hope everyone has a great time there, but being an Aussie I'm especially hoping that Toby Price makes it to the end in one piece
cascao
Honda reliability keep them loosing Dakar every year. Now Yamaha can take 5th from them.On quads is was a shame too.Not to mention moto GP, F1.....Big question: What happened whith HRC? It is a lucky thing? Edited January 15, 2016 by cascao
crazybond700
Well KTM has a lot of rides for 1 thing, one drops out, the next will take over. In the dakar you will have troubles, the one with the least problems wins (ok, you need speed, and navigation aswell but there are enough riders with potential). The trick is to go fast, but not too fast. Honda has some riders that are too fast imo.
crazybond700
No spoilers but just some stories. Dutch quad rider Kees Koolen (founder booking.com) got stuck in the sand with broken gearbox. He got an helicopter pilot to get him out However it did not end well. crazybond700
The 125cc guy made it to the end, great job well done. http://www.adventurebikerider.com/forum/23-bikes/476936-2-stroke-husqvarna-125-rally-in-this-years-2016-dakar.html#480887 Laia sanz broke her collar bone but still kept on driving! Also much respect for truck 528. Japanese rider is over 70, and already a rider since the eighties http://www.dakar.com/dakar/2016/us/rider/528.html Edited January 17, 2016 by crazybond700
