b40rt
Any suggestions of best sprocket combination ? 10/11 & 42 seems to be the most common. Thanks Ross
racehunter
Hi Ross, The info I have is that the standard front sprocket was an 11 tooth and that's what I have fitted with a 42 rear. The 10 was an option. Edited January 11, 2016 by racehunter
b40rt
Many thanks, it felt a bit high, even with the 10 !
swmtf3
I've got a climber bottom end in a SWM with 10-41, and that is fast. Have just ordered a 44 rear.
b40rt
I've discovered a 42 in the pile, so will see what that's like.
b40rt
10 / 42 is getting there, but 1st feels like a low 2nd. Need to try it properly, would going from 42 to 44 make a noticeable difference ?
swmtf3
I hope so, three teeth normally makes a big difference on 520 chain.

swmtf3
Hi Ross, 44t was a disaster. Any slight amount of throttle and the front wheel was in the air. I can post it to you if you want to try it? it was good to meet you at Martins stand on Saturday. Cheers, Paul

I have had a shot on one in Spain and the gearing was "normal" with a 38 on the back. I will have to try and find out the gearing on the crank / clutch basket is where the difference lies. The water pump was driven from this so this might have necessitated the change ? Cheers Ross

b40rt
~5%. Since discovered climber crankshaft pinion has four more teeth than swm/txr air cooled bottom end. Next job is to swap earlier pinion. The clutch basket will also need swapped as earlier bikes helical cut, climber straight cut.

Hi Ross, please consider why aprilia reduced the ratio transmission on engine pinion/clutch basket....because they reduced the clutch springs load!!!! regards.
