dwb5151
I have been hearing rumours that there is going to be a 2016 sherco 4t trials bike. I didnt believe this but then i saw an image of one being tested over in spain. What is you thoughts and opinions of this. Do you think this is true? Do you think it is a good idea for sherco to bring back 4t trials bikes.

2stroke4stroke
Can't see it happening. They couldn't do an adequately "good" one when fourstroke was going to be mandated by the FIM so why put resources into developing one now in the small market we represent when their current bike is (presumably) doing well enough. Much as I would like to see them do so.
pauls320
Would be super cool to see the 3.2 come back, Awesome bikes if sps carb equipped. Please throw up some pictures if you find them. If Sherco brings it back, do you think they will stick they're beloved fully sealed main bearings that they stick into all the 2T's? Hopefully the Superior bearing grease does not get any of that horrible motor oil in it
micm
They couldn't do an adequately "good" one when fourstroke was going to be mandated by the FIM Actually Graham Jarvis won the British Trials Championship on a Sherco 4T in I think 2008 or 9. So the poor old 320 must have been adequate!
borus
Sherco's Enduro 4t is excellent, if they want they can certainly build a great 4t motor, I hope your right on the 4t trial. I've asking for it for years.
steve_earle
It would be nice to see one but I think Montesa have the 4 stroke market sewn up thanks to Mr Bou, Plus the price of them is reasonable. Sherco would be foolish to invest a huge outlay in developing one that only a select few will buy.

So the poor old 320 must have been adequate! Indeed, but one works machine winning a title (ridden by a rider who we now realise probably could have done just about as well on an enduro bike - see the videos) doesn't negate that most private owners seemed to find them something of a headache with starting problems etc. Not many take on Honda at their own game and beat them. As I said I'd like to see it but I don't think it's realistic.
pauls320
Agree'd, no one can beat Honda at their own game. Sherco pretty much had the 3.2 fully sorted with the '08t 10th anniversary which was pretty much the '09 production machine and starting is even not an issue, hot or cold. They should smarten up who'ever was casting the crappy porous cylinder castings if they are gonna pump any more out. The big bore 320 is definitely Not for everyone as it can be a handful for some . I would never purchase a new Sherco 2T with their idiotic practice of using fully sealed main bearings and dont forget about those terrible intake manifolds that wont seal, but I would take a serious look at the 3.2 if it came back without the rear fuel tank/fuel pump frame and those nasty awful formula hydraulics. beta_blocker
Thanks, when I got it the gearing was changed (from stock) to a 10-46. I'm currently trying it with a 9-46 combo. It really calms the bike down and I ride most sections in 2nd gear. Also, I'm running washers on the clutch spring posts to lower the preload on the springs and it makes the clutch much more progressive with no slip. these two changes have made the bike so much more controllable. Sherco doesn't need to start over with a new engine, just make a few changes to this one.
