shercorh
Bought a 290 sherco last month, all was well until today after id been on it for a couple of hours. I had been having problems for a few minutes selecting gears. Slowed down and pressed harder downwards on gearshift. Gearbox started to make loud grinding noise so i pushed the thing to van. The gear lever is floppy(loose).Like a plonker i started it a couple more times hoping it would disappear! Is this common fault, Is it gonna cost me a packet.??? Cheers all, rich. alan bechard
As Mark said, probably just broke the shifter spring. www.rypusa.com and go to Sherco, then the manuals. The shifter has a spring under the right side case that centers it and gives you the "feel". Easy task, so long as nothing has swirled around in the engine. Make sure that if an ear of the spring is missing, you take the time and find the piece. And do not run it any more to "demonstrate" it to anyone.
