Chain Tension?

Hi all took the bike out today,

First of I must have left a bit of dirt in the air box as the slide got stuck open once started (scarey moments) :D gave a blip on the throtell and all settled down,

Then got going , until I slid down the side of a side of a small rock and snagged the chain pulling it off the sprocket, i didn't realise this until I heard a rather unusual noise, ah well as you can see its pretty well chewd up and after a few people trying to help free the chain i decided it was enough for the day, got home and its sorted

But how do i now check if the chain tension is right? like with road bikes its a certain amount of play up and down?

Measurements to the side, I usually do not have a ruler handy when setting chain tension.

As I was explaining too my son yesterday, about one of my fingers between the swingarm and the top of the tensioner, about two of his.

Sometimes, you just hit stuff that knocks them off, no matter how perfectly everything is set.

For once, I did not say "Read the manual",,,, But thinking about it, Dab is right, it is all covered there.

I'd probably only get a 30 thou guage in the 40 inch trousers, but I hear you're hardly filling yours at all these days Mark? <_<

The Shropshire gayboys didn't put up much of a performance on the Saturday night. Tucked up by midnight. :D Nights were fine for me - mornings - BAD!
