johnboy999
Do any one know if Whitehawk frames used the following I D, letters on there frames SABTVR followed by 11 serial Nos, this is a mystery as for years this was believed to be a Hi Boy Frame but not according to Sammy he said all his frames started with SM, so do you know of any frame maker who used these letters , S M Products say it looks like one of his and so do a few people , the previous owner was under the impression it was a S M frame and he owned it for 20 years, Any help will be much appreciated . Cheers. Ps The bike has a V5 with frame No starting SABTVR.
petert
Don't know if this will help or further muddy the waters, but the following is from a kit car forum I sometimes use. I have just had my SABTVRO VIN number allocated by DVLA.It is the normal start to the VIN for cars that have chassis/body shell modifications or are new build.I don't know if the normal meaning of the numbers applies in this case. johnboy999
Petert, Thanks that has solved part of the mystery , I did think it could have been part of the problem the dvla issues this for regesteration purpose . No you have not muddied the waters, So it's looking like it is S M frame but there is no sign of the Sammy Miller frame No . Maybe it's under the riveted on plate which contains the Vin No. Thanks mate for your help Cheers.
