iridebikes
Could it be the cam chain loose?
spen
A ticking noise can sometimes be the exhaust to barrel joint starting to leak and 'pop'..... Try nipping it up, not too much, and see if it helps. Go for the simple things before you delve into the (expensive) things.....

I would check tappets and camchain adjustment first and go from there.

Thanks, in that case check the exhaust is seating correctly inside the recess.
billyt
Very likely to be the valves. Should not need it on a new bike BUT you said the bike got hot. Does the noise frequency increase as you rev the bike? Is it getting hard to start when it is warm? Edited March 11, 2016 by billyt
pudrev3
Yeah it is a nightmare when it's warm and not sure if it gets louder when I Rev it but I've noticed it louder when it's warmed up ?
billyt
I had the same issue with a Beta 300 4T. The valves needed adjusted. They where adjusted and the ticking, clicking noise went away. Edited March 11, 2016 by billyt
heffergm
Are the valves on the Beta 4t's adjusted with shims?
pudrev3
Not sure about the shims !! But thanks billyt I'll get them to look at it , was it expensive to do ?
billyt
No shims. Bucket and screw. First thing is to check the clearances. I have the technical manual for the Beta 4T on just the engine. I can send it to you if you like?
