Prototype
Hi Guys I am building c15 trials bike ( non competition ) . I have c15 distributor type engine still missing few bits ( kickstart other small bits ). most of friend says your c15 big end will gone soon. from last few days ,, i am thinking of getting Bsa b25 or enfield 350 engine , what you guys think is it doable ? or should i focus on fixing the c15 engine i have , trials bike surgeons/implants specialists , please advise. bezaboy
Would stay with the BSA engine. Give Roger Taylor, RTS a call as he can sort and improve it.
Prototype
Thanks for Beza boy for giving me direction. Im based in Ireland.. difficult to send the engine at the moment. RTS seems to be very professional guys.. http://rtsracing.com/RTS-bsa.html
Prototype
Another reason to look for different engine. i think i was out of track after seeing feather weight frames & ultra tuned engines.electric ignitions , all the bits i have seems out dated. ( big old tanks/distributor type engine. no electric ignition. heavy duty frame no roller coaster bearings ) with no big money backing . and family responsibilities . i will try to build with what ever i have . & do things 1970-80 style
jon v8
My suggestion would be to buy a copy of the Rupert Ratio book,I've recently bought a copy as I've got a C15 nearly ready to ride. Its a mine of info, what will fit with what, whats good or not.If you are doing it yourself it would have to be a good buy.
suzuki250
It would be a lot cheaper to stick with the c15 motor, building bitsa's has a tendency to spiral in costs I’ve never had any real problems with the standard c15 motor, found the to be fairly strong and reliable even with standard ignitions
