heffergm
So my last ride I noticed the bike (2014 250) was pushing a bit of coolant out the pressure bleed valve. The fan runs normally, and the outside temps were below normal for my riding season (50F or so). The bike didn't seem hot, so it's possible the level was just a bit high. Can anyone confirm for the recent bikes where the fill level is? Mine is basically just over the rad fins. Also, as far as a coolant change... are these stupid clips holding the lower coolant hoses on re-usable, or should I plan to destroy them in the removal process and replace with a normal threaded hose clamp? lineaway
The clamps are re-usable time and again. The gassers have been pushing coolant since `94.
crazybond700
With a small flat crewdriver you can easily undo the clamps by putting it in the small grove and flipping it. With a pointy plier you can close them again. Just keep an eye on the coolant, if not more goes out there should not be a problem.
jfc
Level seems to be just covering the top of the rad fins, when cold and bike stood on a level surface!
crazybond700
If you fill it all the way it will trow out everything above the fins. I always check if it overflows when you pull in the tubes hard.
