Hello, Just got Bultaco M27 I've known for 37 years. Frame No. B 4901437 - can't find engine No. It was put in an open front shed in 1980 after bad starting from hot discouraged the owner. Taken me since then to persuade him to part with it!

Its all there except the front exhaust and clamp. The aim is to restore to "oily rag plus" as it only did 117 miles since previous rebuild to road use.

One question: do I need to approach a club to help with retreiving original plate WPC 991F and if so who?

Best regards to all

Just fill in a V62 DVLA form (Link below),  pay the £25.00 and your get a new V5C.

Then check out Bultaco UK for parts...

Well the rebuild is coming along... Found the engine number - M27 00347 so we have a bitsa. M27 engine in a M49 frame.

Starting at the front so far we have a respoked wheel, new bearings, new tyre etc, forks re chromed and rebuilt, new head bearings, shotblasted and resprayed frame, new swingarm pivot, bearings etc, rebuilt rear wheel, tyre, bearings etc. Doesn't sound much when written down but it all takes time!

The only bit I thaink I may have difficulty with is the exhaust front pipe. If anyone has one either to use as a pattern I would be grateful.
