baldilocks
My friends beta evo has a braktec clutch master cylinder fitted, it's a dot 4 system. Having driven over 1000 miles from Gateshead to Encamp in Andorra for last weekends trial he was somewhat disappointed to find the cylinder was leaking. By section 6 he had no clutch but we were at this stage up by the ski lifts in Soldeu. At the lunch check another of our crew jokingly said why not top it up with the olive oil people were putting on their lunch? So he did. It worked for the rest of the day and the cylinder still had oil in at the end of the day. ? Edited July 5, 2016 by baldilocks

biffsgasgas
Ha good one. Several years back a rider of an old bsa in our club asked for some fuel. Initially I said sure! Then I hesitated and said wait it's two stroke. He said no problem it will work. He then proceeded to pull some plugs from the engine of his truck. I asked what he was doing and he indicated that when it fouled a plug he would just swap one of these in. He say an it makes the truck run funny for a few miles but they will clean up... --Biff

cleanorbust
And of course the old trick of a well aimed stream of pee to help ease a tyre over a rim when changing a tube should never be ruled out.

axulsuv
I have gotten a jeep out of the desert with pee in the master cylinder ... and vise grips on the rear brake hose to stop the leak from the artfully ripped off rear brake pipe . Fluid is fluid , in a pinch .......And we were outa beer ! Glenn
