techno94
My younger brother is wanting to get started in trials and he has decided that he wants a ty125. Can anyone tell me what they are like for modern day trials and how much they usually cost. He is 12 years old.
telecat
Chris tried one when he started out. The seat is quite tall compared to "modern" bikes. He could be ok on it but be aware the lower weight better handling and brakes of more modern bikes could dis-hearten him. I have seen a very good one go very well in the hands of an expert. But a lot of times they are a handful for the less experienced rider. If he wants to "suck it and see" it's a reasonable bet but don't expect it to be as rideable as a new bike. dman
They have Ty125s? I thought it was only the 80s, 175s, 250s and 350s... For older ones that is. But any Ty is a good choice, lighter than most bikes, good engine, good ergos... Bad point: philips screws very popular with Yamaha when they made the TYs
