netley
Thank you. I'm reliably informed by "in motion " trials who have the original docs and also vintage m/c club that is a 1976 model. Neil

netley
Well I suppose this was inevitable. Major hassles starting and plug fouling etc. People did say about old seals perishing ........ Seems the main bearings have failed as noticeable movement when a lever is placed under the magneto. I have decided not to enter the Tamar Trial as it may not be ready. I'll be ordering an engine re-build kit on the 'morrow. Any helpful advice on the re-build will be gratefully accepted. big_e
NGK seem to enjoy sticking random letters before and after the heat range nomination, covering v'eed electrodes, platinum and iridium tips etc, etc. I looked up the BP5EV and it seems that you can only get a BP5EVX, so I visited the NGK site and here is a link to the NGK Motorcycle Catalogue. This is what we need, at last. It explains all the nomenclatures and explains why and how different designs do what they do. Have a good look: http://ngkntk.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2016/02/MotorcycleCat2016.pdf Make what you will of it, but I think I will try BP5EVX on my Sherpas, or perhaps even the BPR5EIX in Iridium. Maybe we should all go diesel, or even electric!
