monty-python
Having broken the front mudguard on my 4rt, i decided on a replacement. However, on phoning my dealer, was told the price.

umopap!sdn
on the subject of mud guards, with the rear one on my 315 i have gaffa taped some ali mesh over the ventds to stop the crap getting in the filter but tape dnt stick.what would work?i thought about plastic padding but id like to hear your comments. cheers
doogle
On my old 315's and my new 4RT I used ally mesh as well. I take the mudguard off and use a soldering iron to melt it into the underside over the holes. Cheers
monty-python
Good idea that, doogle, My old 315 (03) mesh was stuck to the -plastic with what looked like araldite glue, and lasted for two years of abuse. Tell me Doogle, where did you get it from and what guage mesh did you use, i think i will try it on my 4rt,as the filter is getting filled with cr*p much quicker than my 315 ever did (probably also due to the open design of the filter box). Thanks in advance

lewis
where do you get mesh from ,and how do you fix it in place ,thanks
umopap!sdn
i would try somewhere like B and Q first or a local ironmongers.then as doogle said just melt the fender through the mesh in a couple of spots around each vent with a soldering iron. munch
motor factor or halfords , plastic padding make it. you can use a glue gun
doogle
Don't know where I got the mesh from, I just found it lying around in the garage. I have done four bikes with it now and have none left, so if you do find some let me know where you got it. Sounds like Halfords is the first place to try.
