jam
Went to the NEC sunday, couldn't get my head around the fact there was M X ers galor, KTM, Yamaha, Suzuki, Kwak etc on show and just ONE trials bike on the motul stand, a 300 gasser, oh and a 125 scorpa. Come on this is a National show, why not trials bikes? Went to the dirt bike show last year and I was ready to come home after 20 mins? Shirty had the best stand, Not ALL the importers were there!!!!!!!!!! It was also like a Car Boot sale........... A waste of time !! Come on lets see 06 have a good turn out at the NEC. gizza5
I too went to the motorcycle show, got a BMW 1150GS Adventure as my second toy. The road bike market is massive, with thousands of pounds being pumped in to R&D from the big manufacturers. On top of this the millions of bikers that have road bikes world wide, to purchase not only the bikes but the aftermarket goodies and clothing. Now compare that to the trials importer, very small market, not the number of people following it. Is it worth him spending thousands of pounds on a stand at the NEC for what is prodominently the road bike market, yes you might get a few people saying I wouldn't mind a go at that, but would they go out and buy the latest '06 machinery.....I think not. I am sure you won't see the Harley Davison at the ''Stonleigh Show''
scorpa3
Lets just hope we see lots of trials bikes then. That'll do for me.
jam
Trials bikes are TOYS,(as are 99% Of bikes) so the NEC is an ideal place to show them off to the road users and I forgot M X ers! More sales!!!!!!!
nigel dabster
My guess is the stands cost quite a few thousands, if it was worth it they would do it, it isn't they don't, fact of life.
