scot taco
Very nice 199a in the classified adds and it mentions that it had the clutch bearing mod done to it. I,m more curious than anything as I seem to have mine working pretty good, but does anyone know what this mod is?

smelling123
I also had mine done, a needle roller bearing is inserted in the ignition case for the clutch actuator shaft to move on. Nice little mod, I couldn't feel a massive difference but it's easier to maintain with the grease nipple and not expensive. Overall definitely worth it. Have a look here:- http://www.billetparts.co.uk/catalog/bultaco-parts-bultaco-specialist-services-c-24_49.html
twinnshock
Before everyone starts planning this mod. Only the 198A/199A cases are suitable. The position of the locating screw is positioned lower on these cases. In the earlier cover the screw is where the bearing is positioned. Stuart Edit I should have stated 198A/199A cases onward Edited August 30, 2016 by twinnshock
scot taco
Thanks for the replies and you are correct Stuart.I t didn,t dawn on me until you mentioned it,but it should have because I found that out when I went to put an earlier model actuator shaft in my 199a. model80
I have often wondered what the hydraulic clutch converstion offered by Romero Motos are like. Edited August 29, 2016 by model80
tony27
That looks like half a 2 pot caliper used as the slave cylinder rather than the dedicated slave cylinders that modern bikes use
pschrauber
May ne a very early modification? Anyway the bearing mod does have an effect at least to my bike as it still have the short actuating lever and it works too on b models.
