heffergm Posted August 29, 2016 Report Share Posted August 29, 2016 I've not noticed tickover changing when my fan comes on, but if your idle is low and the fan is already on and you raise the revs, yes, the fan speed will increase a bit. gii Posted August 29, 2016 Report Share Posted August 29, 2016 Obviously, both are entirely possible The electrical energy needed to run the fan increases the load on the alternator / engine and drags the tickover down a little If the output of the alternator at tickover is less than 12v then the fan will run slow, increasing the alternator / engine rpm and thus the voltage will increase the fan rpm Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
