dmc2028372
As the title suggests, does a bike entered into the Scott have to have a lanyard fitted?
nhuskys
I took a look at the entry and ACU trials regs.... not mentioned for adult bikes.
hillary
Lanyards are only required in UK trials for youths and sidecar drivers - at least for 2016 - can't say for 2017 onwards.
cleanorbust
Not true. In Scotland, SACU championship trials require adult competitors as well as youths to have them.
nhuskys
Not true. In Scotland, SACU championship trials require adult competitors as well as youths to have them. 16.3 CUT OUT DEVICE: From 1st January 2015 all competitors riding combustion engine machines at a SACU Championship Trial must have cut out devices rigidly connected to the rider by lanyard (maximum 1 metre) so as to stop the engine should the rider and machine be parted. Where possible Pre 65 Machines must have a device fitted that will stop the motorcycle engine. ACU hasn't adopted this rule as of yet. cleanorbust
That is the case, happily, but I don't suppose they'll restrict it to championship trials when they do.
dmc2028372
So gentlemen, final answer time. Do I assume that they are compulsory in Scotland but not in the Scott?
cleanorbust
Yes. Definitely not required in the Scott.
