markg
Hi all, Does anyone know if you can use the 30mm bearing instead of the 20mm one with the 2 alloy spacers? I was supplied 30mm one with a new Mahle piston and wanted to check it was OK to use before I fit it. Thanks. Mark G
markg
Think I may have answered my own question: Wider small end can be used if big end fitted with thrust washers??
bullylover
Hi Mark. I have a 199 crank in having a new bigend put in it now. I bought an Italpart piston and a bigend kit from that well known English shop and the 30mm small end bearing does not use spacers on it and the bloke doing the work emailed me today and said the conrod really needed 1mm thrust washers on it instead of the .5mm ones supplied. So the answer is yes. Graham.
lbhbul
Mark Please be sure to put it in your existing rod & try the wrist pin to ensure it will go thru. Larry
