roger shaw
Hi All First post and its a question I have removed the cam chain sprocket from the crank and there is no markings on the sprocket or the crank. As the sprocket seems to be an interferance fit to the crank does anyone know the correct way to fit a new sprocket. to get the correct valve timing Thanks in advance Roger
tlrmark
On the camchain drive sprocket, you line one of the teeth on the sprocket up with the flywheel keyway on the crankshaft. It goes without saying, the sprocket tooth has to be centered exactly on the flywheel keyway, for proper cam timing. Sometimes the sprocket trys to turn as it is pressed on, if so pull it off and try again.
