johnmc408
The manual says 10W40 750cc. The Internet says ;-) 650cc if just an oil change. And I have seen 10W30 as well. Other posts recommend ATF (F? or Dexron3?) as that seems common for GG trials. It *looks* like ATF is in there now (red-ish) I haven't heard of 10W40 for a trials bike, so I thought I would double check. Right now the clutch is "grabby" in first gear when riding a figure 8 (so bad it is kinda hard to do at idle speed). The bike probably had been sitting for 3-4 months. Wondering what is updated wisdom on this before I change out the oil. ------ Also, the manual says this for gas/oil ratio: A semi-sintehetic or synthetic oil for twostroke engines should be used for the oil-fuel mixture, with a ratio of 1,5. Does this mean 50:1 or 80:1? I have an older trials bike that is 80:1, would be great to use that. Or maybe both at 70:1? Not sure how sensitive these bike are to the ratio... ------ Thanks! taffe
Hi johnmc, can't help with specs for this model, but l do know that ATF will give a quicker acting clutch. Cheers Taff
lineaway
All is true. I would do 650cc of 10w40. 750 would be on an engine rebuild. 50:1 if you are trail riding. Pull apart the clutch plates to make sure the friction plates are not coming apart. The glue was known to fail.
