ralph1
My bike overheated today, the fan motor failed and it dumped all the coolant into the gearbox. It didn’t seize but it got very hot!!! Would this have done any damage to the piston/bore?
lineaway
Dumping into the cylinder and dumping into the tranny is two different problems. Good luck.

axulsuv
Your water pump seal let go ... Fix that and try it out , or just pull the cylinder and inspect ... but the water pump is the most likely culprit ....
copemech
the fan sensor will not work if all the coolant has leaked out to yhe trans as it has no coolant to sense.
ralph1
It was the fan that caused the problem, I came off and broke the connector plug! the heat and pressure caused the seal to fail, its also broke the impeller Don't know what hurts the most, the money to repair it or my foot from the fall! michael_t
Or your ego... I always think these things wouldn't happen if I was a better rider - big blow to the ego when they do (and they always do ).
