cabby
Can anyone tell me how common bike swapping is during the ssdt. Obviously against the rules I presume but not uncommon I'm lead to believe, anyone care to comment

breagh
They do check the bikes at random times so it would be a bit risky but I suppose there will be the odd clone bike floating around. I don't think the clubs heavy handed about this but I do know of riders that have tried swapping and got caught. There's always gossip if Lampkin changes a plug by the end of the day it's a frame and by Saturday he's got an artic filled with Vertigos and a the Red Bull chopper on Rannoch Moor.

perce
And there would be no one daft enough to swap a 4 banger to a 2 stroker? ?? Blue bike for red bike wasn't as much of an issue.
highland lassie
I don't think the clubs heavy handed about this but I do know of riders that have tried swapping and got caught. It's not that the club isn't heavy-handed. It's more that the club has to use every volunteer it has to man the section and time controls, and lay the routes for the next day. If anyone fancies volunteering their services for the week to let more random checks get done, I'm pretty certain it would be very much appreciated.
