mudyman
Hi all, is 10W30 (SAE75) as stated in the list better than using ATF for the clutch ?
nh014
Oil recommendations can get quite opinionated at times, but in our family of bikes (three vintaqe Montesa's, a 2011 Gas Gas 300, and two 2014 Beta 300's) we use Maxima MTL 75wt oil. It's designed for wet clutches and In my opinion far superior to 10W30 or ATF
jonnyc21
I have also had good luck with Maxima MTL 75wt oil, however I am a recent convert to Silkolene light and Silkolene Comp gear oils, I feel they give a more progressive clutch feel than the Maxima as the additive package seems to work great for trials clutchs. mudyman
Hi Guys, the Maxima looks good and certainly a good option. Unfortunatly its not available in Germany so the postage from the USA or UK will be high.
jonnyc21
You should be able to get other brands out there. I have always wanted to try GRO oil but it's hard to get in the US and I believe you can get it out there. Can't comment on what version of the GRO to get but it's really good stuff from what I have heard. Good luck.
