craig10
Picked up off Breagh on the eastscotlandtrials forums http://www.obantimes.co.uk/2016/11/23/16867/ Hoping it won't be causing any land access problems, afaik Alcan have been long time friends of the trial
laird387
The first details of the new ownership were made public yesterday and seem to be entirely positive - the smelter itself is due for refurbishment and there are longer term plans to add a steel reclamation module to the unit in order to improve the earning power. Several community linked schemes for developing the land are apparently being discussed, with distinct mention of the total local income generation potential due to the tourism associated with the various sporting activities already sponsored in the Lochaber area - and always remember the change of ownership of such a large concern rarely changes any of the local senior personnel, who will therefore still be there, helping the trial as always. floydbassman
Better news than the MOD land used for trials. Now managed by an outside land agency who have hiked up the prices steeply. The Red Tape Trial at Bagshot next Feburary has been cancelled due to this and there will probably be others.
