jack_h
I have just bought a 2016 Sherco 250 and it seems to be running a little rich and smoking a bit. Checking the mixture screw on the Keihin carb it is only half a turn out. Is this about right for this bike / carb set up? I am running the fuel mixture at 70:1. Thanks for any help! sirdabalot
It could be that the air screw is in too far. One and a half turns to two and a half turns out from fully in is the normal adjustment range, providing somebody hasn't faffed with jetting. On a used bike I would check the jet sizes are standard and it has a clean air filter.
worldtrialchamp
From experience with that bike new, mixture screw was rich, needle was lean, drop needle clip, richen mixture screw... 100:1 I find is plenty of oil
cascao
For this bike and carb, I can say mixture screw range can be something from 1/4 to 1 turn....weired but true.
