oneal121
Just wondered how riders run there gas gas trials bikes on Evans Coolant rather than just antifreeze mix.
suzuki250
what's wrong with 50:50 water & antifreeze/inhibitor? Never had any problems with distilled water and good quality automotive antifreeze/inhibitor the Evans stuff cost £100+ if you purchase the pre-treatment!?!? Edited April 18, 2017 by suzuki250 My spelling sucks!
dadof2
Before anyone thinks of (wasting) their money on evans coolant I suggest they read the following link. http://mgaguru.com/mgtech/cooling/cool_123.htm The much lower specific heat capacity and higher viscosity of Evans are serious drawbacks. These types of coolant may have their place in special purpose engines designed for them but thats about it.

oneal121
it was interesting to see who did and didn't use evans. And the reason why, i know trials is a misers sport by the people ive spoken to since ive been involved with club trials.
turbofurball
But trials doesn't have radical cooling requirements, so why would anyone bother? Unless it's lighter than water ...
suzuki250
Misers or people with common sense? Plus what's wrong with water? Edited April 19, 2017 by suzuki250
wakka
I run waterless coolant in my 300 KTM, works fine, put some in my 300 Raga and the engine would not get up to operating temperature, it would stall very often, drained it out put some Motul fluid in, sweet as never stalled again
