james111089
could it be the stator and how much will that cost to replace its an 02 rev3 250. anyone got a flywheel puller i could borrow or know where i can get 1. marky g
I wouldn't have thought it was the stator going James, I've heard they either work or they don't work.....take the carb off and clean it out, change the plug and the plug cap before you go pulling the flywheel off. Pullers are not much money from your local dealer (under
james111089
local dealer is sammy miller and hes a tight *** so he wont stock 1 i will give the carb a clean i have tried a differnt plug and the carb was cleaned before i took it out(this is the first time i took it out) i have only had the bike for about 5 weeks. but i will double check by giving the carb another clean James

james111089
it runs fine up to about a third of the throttle and thn at high revs like misses and doesnt rev cleanly James
neonsurge
Lots of knowlegable advice here already but I'll echo r2w's suggestion of a broken flywheel (woodruff) key. Unless the carb is completely gooped it's unlikely to cause a severe misfire. Could be electrical (check all wiring for breaks/shorts etc. and swap the plug) but check the key first 'cos it's easy. charliechitlins
Another vote for the flywheel key. The timing being way off can set stuff on fire.
james111089
wouldnt the flywheel key also stop it running properly at teh bottom end tho? because it runs fine until about half throttle. James
charliechitlins
If the flywheel has only slipped a little, it could make the power soft on bottom, but be really noticeable on top.
