gasgaswobbler
Hi all, I have an old 2001 txt which seems to be pumping oil out of the crank breather pipe! Thats what I have pictured, right, the thicker tube ? In the end of the thicker red tube was this plug So, tech guys. What is the likely reason it would be pumping oil out and how would one fix it ? Thank you for your time. carl

faussy
If you are referring to the clutch centre bolt then no, your bike has a different clutch to a pro

If I need to dig into the engine what should I be looking for if its not the centre bolt ?
dadof2
Possible reasons for oil pumping out are Wrong grade of oil - unsuitable oil can foam and expand Too much oil - check level Water in oil - this will be accompanied by discoloured oil - usually turns grey / milky / cloudy Leak into gearbox from crankcase - porous casting or faulty gasket. lineaway
Just drain the oil and if not discolored refill with 650cc.

Or a crank seal
gasgaswobbler
Cheers folks. That all gives me something to aim for . Here is another question as im looking at the manuals on line. My bike was originally a 250 but somewhere along the line its has either had a 320 head fitted or whole new engine. Q, Can a 320 head be retro fitted keeping existing lower casing. I presume the crank etc would be that same anyway on either the 250 or 320? in which case i would be looking at 250 parts list on the GasGas site ?
