netley
Hi I think I'm going to need one of these. I've tried all sorts of things to make what I've got fit but it all looks wrong, unsuprisingly really, so all I can think of is getting an original wheel and brake plate. Anyone have one hanging around that needs a new home? Will anything else fit ??? Cheers Neil Cornwall
dave_t
When I had a 349 in the mid eighties the front hub cracked and Dave the parts guy at Sandifords suggested I buy a 242 hub which I did as they were cheaper, the difference I recall was 349 was magnesium, 242 was not, otherwise identical. May give you another option to obtain one.
netley
Cheers for that Dave, I've now found a 242 wheel and hub on fleabay and it certainly looks the same as one I've seen im some pics someone sent me. It needs a little work but hopefully..... I see you're from Stourbridge, where I grew up ! Small world eh?
dave_t
Hope the wheel works out for you. Certainly is a small world, I am about five miles from Stourbridge but spent approx thirty five years with gaps working in the town.
