oldnslo
Any idea what the extra carb needle that came with the bike is for and when it should be used? I looked all over the owners manual and it has no mention. This is on an 04 Montesa. Thanks, Bill.
martin belair
Bill, it is for European unleaded gas. Just put it in your tool box and forget about it. The Montesa is jetted perfect right out of the box. Use a 50/50 mix of pump and race gas (105 octane) with Silkolene Comp 2 plus synthetic 2 stroke oil at 80:1. marlintec
Bill and Martin, could you give the numbering of those needles? In Spain, the usual needle is D36, but in some cases we use D37 one (more gas:air ratio). Thanks, JM.
jrsunt
The extra jets and needles were to put in after the bike has been run in, but if you are happy with the way the bike runs, i would recommend you leave it as standard. dmx84
I thought that the extra needle was for some type of extreme acupuncture therapy, perhaps to help cope with the stress of missing a split.
