kingkopity
Hi guys, quick query. as the title says really. Have any of you guys insured your Oset, and if so, who with? (UK only). The bikes are currently covered on my contents policy but with the insurance company not actually knowing what an Oset is or how to categorise it, they're not filling me with confidence should i need to claim. Thanks in advance.
original
I tried a couple of years ago, really struggled, someone said they did 1 trials bike and 2 osets for £170, when I rung the company , NFU mutual, they said they wouldn't touch the osets and quoted me a huge price for my bike. please post if you have any luck. thanks wayne
NAD1
As I understand it an electric trials bike does not need separate insurance as it should be insured under the house insurance - same as a push bike etc. Only motor vehicles need their own insurance. You obviously need to notify your house insurer of the Oset - detail, value etc. That's all I did with my sons Mecatecno.
2stroke4stroke
I think you'll find that, in law, an Oset falls within the definition of a "motor vehicle", hence won't be covered by household insurance.
