Gas gas identification

A little help please. I have a gas gas 300 txt pro 07. As I was told. Can any 1 confirm this off the num. Vtrgg3002f0740086 

Also can any 1 tell me how much oil for a oil change. Thank you all very much.

I downloaded the manual for my txt pro from here mybikemanuals.com 

Told me how much oil, maybe give info on Id ?

Looks like a 2006 model with a newer model rear fender??

Id say looking at the tank sticker and airbox its either an 04 or an 05 model , 400ml gearbox oil , no more or it will spit it out of the breather pipe

Sorry didnt look at the airbox stickers properly , going on the tank sticker and the plastics by the headstock its a 2005

550cc from empty but use your sight glass until it's half way up.2007 had a black frame.

So am I correct thinking it's a 2005 250cc now. Or 2005 300 cc. Got me baffled now. I will go with changing the oil and checking it on the looking Glass.  Any good oil recommended

I would say based on the table above your VIN is for a 2005 model 300cc (also look on the cylinder flywheel side by the exhaust and you should see 30 stamped/cast into it)

3002 = 300 model with the 02 year of Europe homogulation

F = 2005

07 = manufactured in July

4 = manufactured in 2004

0086 = 86th bike made 

 

As for gearbox oil, the Pro engine uses much less than the previous model engine.  Takes approx 380cc, but of course watch the sight glass on the clutch cover and fill it to halfway or just above halfway.

Which oil to use? there is a wide range of opinions on that.............

@wayno57 according to that it is a 163cc motor  which should be a 1994 JT 160 , or called a 200 by some people , look on the cylinder it may be marked on there although it could have been converted to a 125cc at some stage in its life as those two capacities share the same crank/conrod assembly. If you want to be sure then drain the coolant and take the head off and measure the piston diameter , if its a 163cc it will be 64mm dia , if it is a 54mm it is a 125cc , the gearbox/clutch casings  look the same on all the variants so it could have had a complete motor change at some point and be a 250 or larger , as i said  you will know by the piston diameter.

Thanks. Bought this from a guy that told me it was a "95" 260cc. Not that the size matters for riding, being off a trials bike for quite some time (35 yrs) just want to bang around in my yard and woods. Usefully info for finding parts if needed.

If it actually is a 163cc then if it is tuned nicely and the piston and cylinder etc is in good order then it will have plenty of power for most mid weight riders , a better bike IMO than the earlier PRO models. Have fun.
