farmer58za
Hi all I purchased a whole bunch of new bits for the clutch on my Villiers 37A today. The crank seal on the drive side of the crank looked a bit worn so I got a new Viton one . Is it fairly easy to pry the old seal out of the crankcase end? The old seal looks like it is a standard rubber/nitryl type. Is there any special precautions I should be aware of? Thanks in advance David

trialsrfun
Best to lightly oil or grease the seal before fitting same for sprocket before fitting it through seal. If you are using a 17t engine sprocket the seal is thinner than that for the std 20t. Villiers service tools you will need are the locking comb, peg spanner and hub tool http://villiersservices.co.uk/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=7_76 these are not too costly and certainly worth buying. farmer58za
Yes, bought those tools except the hub locking one. Will make that up from an old intermediate clutch plate.
