as iow
So lets get this straight.... the RFME in spain helped with an entry into their trial for a British rider!! I trust we did the same at hawkstone for one or more of their youngsters.... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> No but the ACU did help us when Alfredo rode in the British youth trial on the IOW :santa1:
adsy
[i think the Trucks were at the first round in Garbagnate Monastero, and the second round Norway(see photos above)and you said some at the 3rd round, so that would be all the UEM rounds Adsy? Regardless of that there is more support from the federations, they were I think at Hawkstone too? QUOTE] Yes the trucks were at all the youth euro rounds that coincided with an Adult round,i.e Garbagnate Monastero & Hawkstone. My point being that there was a much smaller presence at the final round that was a stand alone youth & womens event. It is not fair to portray within these posts that there are lots of big trucks following foreign youths all over europe, yes they will help out if they happen to be their, but thats it, apart from the very priveliged few. As for the backing foreign youths get, they get it from the factories mainly, & not from RFME etc, all the federation trucks are subsidised by sponsorship, from within the industry. If the Uk manufactured two of the main trials machines we would not be having this debate, as they would be encouraging home grown talent to sell their product. But after all this we can all agree on one thing!!! At the moment the UK has crop of some of the best youth riders in the world, its just a bl**dy shame we can't give them the support they deserve to get them right to the top. Whatever happens (if anything) I think the UK has a very rosy few years ahead at the very top level of the sport. Look out the TDN in a few years time. We do have a crop of the best Youth riders in the world at the moment. How many times over the last few years have we been able to boast that ! The object of this debate was to open up for some comments and boy has it stirred up some comments. Keep up the great work you are doing Trials Central :hat:

stuartc
Blo*dy riders complaining AGAIN !!! Its always one thing or another. "What course should I ride"? "Is it hard today"? "This pen has run out of ink" "Sorry I'm late,I got up late, the traffic was bad" "Can you change my nappy before the start" "I don't want to drive my van on that grass, what if I get stuck"? "Will I get dirty"? Heard it all before I dont ride but enjoy the sport and spend many hours on the phone/internet/travelling just to help the sport along. Setting out a trial costs me more than a tenner in juice for the motor! Also I have had to take time off work for some trials. I too also sponsor some events, at no real benefit to my company. The cost to each rider would be a lot more per event if organisers required payment. Pay up and SHUT UP !!!!!!
bikespace
Not sure what you're getting at there Stu. If it was in answer to my post, you maybe misunderstood it. It was intended very light heartedly. I've not sent my forms off yet this year, just got an email saying license was on it's way. Probably a clerical error somewhere. I do organise the odd trial or two throughout the year and I've never complained the licence was too expensive. In fact I've previously said i would be willing to pay more. Love you lots :santa1: Gaz

Secondly, if we dislike the comments riders make, then we do have a choice, no one forces us to organise an event if we don't want to. bigfoot
AtomAnt amuses me a little.Lack of ACU vision? He is a Club Secretary - but talks about ACU licence - no such thing for Trials - the revenue is raised through a levy system - those who ride most pay most. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> If there is no such thing as an ACU licence what the hell are the SACU taking

Mine says licence on the front so in my book it's a fe<kin' licence

john collins
Bloody hell. I am sure we have been here before. The SACU - are independant in so much as they issue their own licences - or whatever - independant from Rugby - they are not just another Centre. They decide on all things financial to do with Scotland - and in the case of Trials - they issue a licence instead of collecting the money through a levy. Now - to all those who keep sayiong they have a licence - of a relative has a licence etc etc : If someone - or their Auntie is an Official - eg Clerk of Course, Sound Meter Operator, - they will be issued with an Officials Licence. This is free - and some people will have several things stamped on back - eg you may be Steward, Clerk of Course, Sound Inspector, etc. The " licence" refers to these. If you are also a Trials Rider - you may also have this stamped on the same piece of plastic - rather than you have a wallet full of plastic - which most of already have anyway. The "licence" - is for the Officials - the Trials Registration is exactly that - but may be listed on same card. My 2005 Enduro " Licence" for example - actually states on top Licence/Registration. bikespace
Hmmm...could be - It's got all the clerk of course and steward stuff on, but just realised it doesn't say trials rider like last years did. Right - better get my forms sent off - I can have a spare one to leave in the car - nobody will notice Edit: Thanks for your explanation John. We got there on our own eventually. Just shows if you leave us idiots long enough, we'll come to the same conclusion as you, and enjoy several day's thinking about it Edited December 20, 2005 by bikespace
