gorf
Hi, Recently bought a 2011 290 Evo and was wondering can you tell what the CC is without opening the barrel ? bike came with 2012 plastics so it looks just like a 2012, from what i'm told Beta stopped making the 290 in 2011 and from 2012 onward only the 300 version. I would really like to know if its a 290, 250 or even if it is a 300?? for personal piece of mind and in the case of resale. I've also checked the frame number and ,as I'm led to believe, the 10th digit being a "B" would indicate i's a 2011 bike. Any advice greatly appreciated. thall1
I did read somewhere that the frame year - B in your case is not necessarily the model year so it could be a MY2012 bike with a frame produced in 2011..So plastics/colour scheme may be correct. BetaUSA have a history page on their website showing different model year bikes that may help you to identify it or call beta uk... They may be able to contact Beta Italy for confirmation if they don't have records
gasserguy
Just email Beta UK with the frame number & engine number asking them. https://www.beta-uk.com/index.php/contact-us
lineaway
On a used bike you will never know what it is till you measure the piston or the bore. A lot can happen in seven years. Example I bought a world round minders bike that was put together as a 250, but had a 270 top end on it.

evoalien
The single box frame ended in 2011 along with the 290 cc motors. 2012 was the hydro formed frame with the new 300 cc motor derived from the Factory 2011 model. To tell for shure if its a 290 or a 250 you would have to measure the bore.
