jaakko50
Hello gyus especially in Canada and Scotland. In Finland we have nice winter weather, it means snow everywhere and minus degrees (centigrade). No trial at all. Only training methods jumping in garage with your bike or riding figure eights on driveway. Figure eights on hard snow are very good training with Michelin, when there are some
superflytx270
Hi I have a mitas rear tyre and pirelli front. Went out in the snow about a month ago on the nice sunny welsh hillsides and had more grip than my mates who all have michies, we all attempted a big hill climb and after the second attempt i did get to the top mostly on the back wheel as it was quite rutted the other four didnt get close, tyre pressure was about the same in all bikes. Dont know if it was my impeccable skill that got me to the top, luck or the tyre I'd say Luck!
outlaw dave
Hey Jaakko - Over here in Western Canada, we have lots of experience in Winter riding in the snow. - We have had both Mita and Irc come off the bead at low tyre pressures, and we have also seen the tread come off a rear Michelin, - but the guy was riding at -22 (Nuts) - We have found that some bikes get better traction in the snow than others, ie: the Beta is the best, no matter what tyre is on the back - the old TY mono was useless, and the new light bikes struggle. - 3rd or 4th gear is the way to go in the snow - Keep the front end light with your butt over the rear fender. - Another tip is to use the GasGas(Hebo) footpegs as the snow doesn't build up so bad.... Yes and we still have snow in the Okanagan Valley - Forcast for next week is -23 -- BUT spring is not far away, and we wil be out riding in February...... Cheers - Outlaw Dave
